How Does a TURBO CHARGED Engine Works ?Welcome back F1 fans 👋
Today we will learn about how a TURBO CHARGED engine works. If you haven't read my previous article, read it before this one.
In the last article we talked about how a piston engine works. On the first stroke, the intake needs to get air into the piston. In a normal piston engine, it brings air from the atmosphere to the piston at normal pressure. But with a turbocharger we can get more air into the engine and give the engine more power to work.
The turbocharger needs a compressor wheel to spin and deliver more air. The compressor wheel needs to spin. The compressor wheel in the turbocharger spins using the power of the air coming out of the same engine. The turbocharger combines 2 compressor wheels, one for the intake line and the other for the exhaust line.
When the exhaust line compressor wheel rotates, it also rotates the intake line compressor wheel, because they are connected to the same shaft. This is how a turbocharged engine works.
